Intercity train at Slough Station. Whats interesting is that fast intercity trains regularly passed through this station at high speeds, maybe 120+ km/h, which I don't think is quite safe...
Arrival at Windsor Central Station.
Town of Windsor.
Windsor Castle is just adjacent to the town, there is almost no separation between the castle and the town.
On the perimeter of Windsor Castle. Unfortunately you are not allowed to take any pictures inside the castle. In order to get a sense of the spectacular tourist attraction that is Windsor Castle, you have to go there in person to experience it.
Giant courtyard inside Windsor Castle.
Former moat that had been filled in.
Because Windsor Castle is located on a hill, there is a nice view of the town from the castle.
After a long time walking through Windsor Castle and seeing all the State Apartments and etc. (no pictures allowed inside) we end up back outside.
St. George's Chapel. This is where many of the past British monarchs are buried. Also buried here is the present Queen's parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.
If memory serves me right, this is the residences of the people who work at the Chapel (clergy, etc.). Other than the Royal Family, I think they are the only other residents of this castle.
Signs of modern life in an ancient castle.
Back to the town of Windsor.
Eton College, which is near Windsor. The exclusive private school for elites and aristocracy.
View of Windsor Castle from the bridge.
Back in London, taking a double decker bus from Paddington Station along Oxford St. towards our hotel.
Since it was still early we went and explored St. Panacras Station which was near out hotel. This is the terminal station for high speed Eurostar trains to Paris and Brussels. It was beautifully restored as the Eurostar station for London but because it was dark I couldn't get any really good photos of the architecture.
